Soft Skills Training

These are 1/2 day courses that can be commissioned separately or as part of a wider programme. They can easily be linked to Apprenticeship Standards if required.


Communication in the workplace –
This course will give delegates an overview of the range of communication opportunities and the barriers they may face. Using a range of exercises they will learn about the importance of being professional, behaviour styles and improve their communication skills to better manage situations in the future.

This course will also consider written communication, including basic sentence and paragraph construction, common spelling errors (e.g. there/their/they’re), email good practice and verbal and non-verbal communication skills.


Assertiveness in the workplace –

This course is an extension of ‘Communication in the workplace’ specifically looking at developing delegates’ assertiveness skills.
Delegates will consider their own rights in the workplace and in challenging situations. The course will help them express these rights with a managed and professional approach.


Working in a Team –

This course will give delegates an understanding of the complexities of team work, how to be a good team member and how to manage relationship with colleagues.
It will consider how to manage difficult situations with colleagues and give delegates the opportunity to consider both case studies and their own experiences of where team work can be challenging.


Time Management Skills –

This course will provide delegates with an understanding of their workstyle and identify gaps in their time management skills. This will lead onto identifying strategies to improve on time management in the workplace.


Customer Service Skills –

This course will provide delegates with skills to deal with customers on the front line. With a focus on social housing, delegates will consider the customer base, the challenges customers will face and approaching to managing complex situations.
